FRIENDS OF THE GAMES

Friends of Commonwealth Games in Wales

CGCW is currently seeking a group of Friends that will support Delhi 2010 and build on the success of Melbourne 2006. This exclusive club will be known as the Friends of Commonwealth Games Wales.

The Commonwealth Games is the only multi-sport event Wales can compete in as a nation. Wales traditionally punches above its weight at Commonwealth Games. Wales won more medals per head of population than any other home country at Melbourne 2006.

How to become a Friend of Team Wales 2010

Individuals or Small Companies who are willing to contribute a minimum £1000 in the four years up to the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games will become Friends of Commonwealth Games Wales. In addition to being part of Team Wales and assisting with preparations, each friend will be entitled to many benefits.

Some of Wales’ most recognizable faces are its athletes, Nicole Cooke, David Davies, Michela Breeze, Dame Tani Grey-Thompson, and Rhys Williams to name a few. The wide range of sports in the Commonwealth Games creates an opportunity for Friends to access many sections of the Welsh market.

In order to send Team Wales to Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games Wales needs to raise £500,000. Become a Friend of Commonwealth Games Wales and support Wales and receive benefits for the full four years of build up to the Games. Plus, Team Wales will also be represented at the Youth Commonwealth Games 2008 in Pune India.
